East Bay Stroll

Day 10: 1st June 2011. The people of San Francisco realize that they live in USA’s number one tourist destination. But they want you to know that things have changed since 1968. Whatever the vibe used to be here, today it is glorious. The beauty of the grand Victorian wooden buildings in the sunshine is enchanting. You immediately know where you would invest $4m if you had it to spend on a West Coast pied à terre. We don’t have that hypothetical issue to deal with so just enjoyed walking for miles today. Pier 49, Alcatraz, Golden Gate bridge etc. But kept moving and climbed the hills and got a pedestrian’s view of the city. An American diner brunch easily fuelled all this, and we’ll do Japanese food tonight with the wonderful Waddingtons. The Internet is poor in the hotel so I’m going off line. Tomorrow we’re out for the day to do black & White photography in Yosemite. Naturally. Then travelling to Vancouver on Friday.
