Mystic Gothic

I was really only trying out some wash and lines for copying a watercolour picture that I saw on line. I bashed it out quickly and put it in my Facebook series. Boom! 100+ likes, many comments, and even some offers to purchase. Well, that’s a milestone! In the end, I am not sure WHY anyone liked it at all, but my son tells me it signifies, chaos, collapse, blood, and darkness. Wow! Where did that come from? That’s an interesting thing about art, we know that art communicates emotions from the artist to the consumer; but are those emotions intentional, even known at all to the artist? And which of the artist and the consumers are entitled to specify a true meaning? If there is one. Good questions!
