Architecture 1/6 Elevation

  1. It’s beautiful. So I have to ask a question, as I see you have drawn the sketch with graphite, doesn’t that hinders when you add watercolor to it? I tried it once and mine looked as if I smeared dirt all over my paper. 🙂

    1. Thank you! I do love to use a slow drying ink liner (Derwent Graphik) or a soluable graphite stick and blur the lines with a waterpen or watercolour. Ince you’re expecting the flood of black then you can ‘manage’ it! However, the tutor insisted on Pencil this time, and I used an 8B. The photo might have reduced the tones but the original has many shades of black, and of course the tree is done with the tip and side of the pencil, and a very different ‘grip’ to create a contrasting mark.
