I arrive early to warm up. In 20m I’ve drawn the building in loose 2-point perspective. Actually it’s a kind of advanced perspective. Because I’m moving my head to see everything in the drawing, the horizontal lines don’t just project from the vanishing points; they actually curve over my head into the opposite gradient. So I get this:
Inside the class, I explain to two nice ladies how I constructed it, and we notice that one roofline is in between the two gradients. So. I rub it out and redraw it;
Maybe better? Maybe worse? Anyway we watch Stephanie Bower’s demonstration drawing in Single Point Perspective, and then brave the autumn plein air for a sketch. Once I’ve splashed in some colour, we have this:
At home I add colour to a print of the earlier sketch.
