Day 50: Blue Chairs (Part 1)

I took an iPhone photograph of these chairs without even stopping as we walked by an Aegina beach restaurant, «Φλισβος»:

As usual, the painting I’m aiming for would be exactly like the iPhone App, #Prisma (#Gothic filter). I divide the generated image into two squares and square them up using the iPhone App, #Grid.

I then tried a couple of pencil sketches, “Squaring Off” to reproduce the interesting wide angle effect. Also I want the perspective to be realistic to balance the unrealistic colour scheme:

After painting I discover that the clean strong edges of #Prisma do not come off a brush easily, and the colour mixing is really subtle and difficult. I end up with this:

And then run it through #Prisma again because I can. And because I can’t resist.
